Skincare Routine in the 20's

Our skin changes according to our age. The teenage period is the time where your skin  is like flower, so beautiful and fragile. Due to the hormone activities the skin might get problems like acne, blackheads and whiteheads etc. But the skin problems are lesser compared to the adult period.

20's is the period where the transformation from teenage to adulthood starts. It is also the period when the skin thickens and becomes more tougher. And also you are shifting from minimal make up to more heavy make up. So you should definitely care about your skin.

Skincare Routine in the 20's

The skincare routine for you

1. Cleansing

It is mandatory that you should cleanse your skin 2 times a day: one in the morning and one at the night before going to bed. If you have acne problems you can use products having Benzyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. Use a mild cleanser rather than a strong one. Because it will absorb all the oil from your skin and will become dry.

2. Toner

This is actually optional. Toner is used to normalize pH value of the skin after cleansing. But nowadays there are a lot of changes occurred in the production of cleansers. So it is not necessary to have toner. If you want it then you can  use it.

3. Moisturizer

Moisturizer is an un avoidable product in every age. You can choose a moisturizer according to your skin type. Hyaluronic Acid is a good moisturizing agent. So moisturizers having Hyaluronic Acid is better for all skin types. You can also apply a light-weight moisturizer at night before going to bed.

You can also use a retinol moisturizer, but it is better to use it from mid 20's. Dr. Ellen Marmur, M.D says "Your mid-twenties are a great time to start using retinol."

4. Sunscreen

Another unavoidable product is the sunscreens. You should apply a sunscreen when you go out. Because the exposure from the sun rays will adversely affect much during your adulthood rather than in the younger age. So apply it after every two or three hours during the day time.

5. Eye cream

Eye cream is an optional one. If you have dark circles around your eyes, you can use eye creams before your make up.

6. Scrubs and masks

In the 20's you can use scrubs twice a week.  Use a scrub or mask that suits your skin well. Do not over exfoliate your skin. Chemical peelers are also available but it is better to use them in the late 20's after consulting a dermatologist.
